This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
This is a content preview space you can use to get your audience interested in what you have to say so they can’t wait to learn and read more. Pull out the most interesting detail that appears on the page and write it here.
Financial coaching is more focused on building a strong financial foundation helping you with budgeting/spending, your money mindset, and financial education (not investment management). Financial planning is more about specific recommendations on what to invest in along with ideally providing a comprehensive financial plan involving tax, retirement, estate, and insurance planning.
Not at all. Financial coaching can benefit anyone seeking to improve their financial well-being whether it's to reduce/eliminate debt, build up a savings or emergency fund, plan to buy a new home, improve your credit scores, understand what options exist for retirement savings, etc.
It varies based on your financial goals and your willingness to commit to the process. Some people might have issues that are easily addressed in 1 coaching session, whereas some people benefit from on-going coaching. On average, the typical timeframe is 3-6 months.
All of my coaching sessions are done remotely, typically through Zoom. I can provide financial coaching in all 50 states.
No, that is outside of the role of a financial coach. I can provide education on the types of options you have, but for specific investment recommendations, you should speak with a trusted Certified Financial Planner®.
I address both short-term (i.e. budgeting/spending/debt management) and long-term financial goals (i.e. financial education, long term savings)
Absolutely! I prefer it actually. Finances are typically one of the biggest causes of stress for couples and there remains this stigma of talking about money and finances. Couples are much more successful achieving those financial goals if they are both on the same page. The cost of coaching is the same whether it's 2 people in the coaching session compared to just 1 person.
Having grown up in a fairly modest household with parents living paycheck to paycheck with 5 people in the same cozy 3-bed/1-bath house my parents still live to this day, I was always pretty money conscious. We didn't struggle nearly as much as many people, but there wasn't ever talk of financial planning, retirement accounts, college savings, or anything else I would classify as "financial literacy". Luckily that seemed to instill a sense of financial independence in me and the desire to better understand all of these things that so many people seemed to struggle with. I graduated magna cum laude from Florida State with a degree in Finance and over the last 20 years have worked in various financial roles (personal banking, commercial real estate, mortgage lending, and financial coaching). At 22 I had next to nothing in terms of savings. By 25, I was able to achieve my first a 6-figure income. By 35, I was officially a "millionaire" although just typing that makes me cringe because I don't ever want to sound like I'm bragging and even then felt far from rich. By 40, my goals shifted toward the F.I.R.E. movement of gaining financial independence and "retiring" early, but I love helping people with their money, mortgages, and home buying needs so this will continue to be my passion for many many years to come.
